Double chance beckons for Under 20’s

The Northern Tigers Men’s Under-20’s will be looking to complete a league and finals double this weekend as they take on Western Sydney Wanderers in the grand final at Sydney United Sports Centre.

Gui De Souza’s side have won 15 consecutive matches since May, scoring an incredible 57 goals in the process.

That strong finish to the season saw the boys secure the league title on the final day of the season thanks to a 3-1 win over Blacktown Spartans. The team finished two points clear of Western Sydney on the table, with the Central Coast Mariners five points further back.

Given the first week off in finals thanks to their league placing, the second week saw the team square off against Hills Brumbies for a place in the season finale.

The Brumbies were dispatched in another 3-1 win as Zach Morris, Jordan Smylie and Claudio Rosano found the back of the net to set up a showdown with the Wanderers.

Tigers have enjoyed a better record from the sides’ two meetings this season, with a 2-2 draw in April followed by a 2-1 win at NTRA in round 20.

Claudio Rosano (21 goals) and Karim Moursi (16 goals) have been the key strike weapons up front, but with 17 different goalscorers this season there’s plenty of goals across the park.

Northern Tigers FC encourages everyone involved with the club to support the team on Sunday by attending the match in Tigers colours.
