Player Profile: Erica Di Sciascio

Erica has cemented her place in the Women’s First Grade back four this season after making the step up from our Under 17’s squad last year!

How long have you been playing for Northern Tigers?

I have been playing at Northern Tigers for two seasons now and hopefully many more to come!

Which clubs have you played for previously?

Prior to playing at Northern Tigers, I played at Football NSW Institute for the 2016 season competing in the Reserve Grade NPL competition, before that I played at the North West Sydney Koalas for three consecutive seasons, playing in the U/13, U/14’s and U/15’s.

What do you enjoy most about playing for Northern Tigers?

Northern Tigers is the most supportive and encouraging club that I have been involved with and I think that is what I love most about it. The coaches are always willing to help and assist in any way they can which makes my job easier as a player as I am able to seek help and guidance when required.

What position do you play? Have you always played there?

I currently play right back and have been playing there for most of my football career, although last season I did play the second half of the season as striker which was something different and challenging but thoroughly enjoyed it.

What is your personal goal for this season?

My personal goal for this season was to significantly improve my ball skill and having more confidence in driving forward in attack, to become a threat to other teams and create more goal scoring opportunities. This goal is still a work in progress but I have seen a dramatic improvement in my ball skills and ability to drive forward in attack.

Do you have a favourite club/player? Why?

I do have a favourite club, and that is Tottenham Hotspur, I thoroughly enjoy watching this team play and love how threatening they can be in attack.

What is your best football memory?

I think my best football memory would be captaining the winning state titles side in 2014 with current Northern Tigers U/15 coach , Frank Warnink. This tournament was such a great and challenging experience considering we had to play against such a tough opposition and achieved great results.
