Player Profile: Emma Watkins

How long have you been playing for Northern Tigers?

I joined the Tigers back in 2011 (Under 12’s), making this my 8th season!

Who have been the been the biggest influences in your football career?

Undoubtedly my parents have played a significant role, driving countless hours and providing endless support.

Also the friendships I have made with both the girls and coaches over the years are invaluable, creating a really stable and enjoyable environment to grow as a player.

Which clubs have you previously played for?

West Pymble, my local club as a junior.

What do you enjoy most about playing for Northern Tigers?

The club culture is truly unique and can easily be described as like a family. Everyone is looking out for each other, whether this is a team mate on the field or supporting our little U12/13’s SAP buddies.

What position do you play? Have you always played there?

I play holding midfielder (No.6/8), and have always played there.

Do you have a favourite club/player? Who/why?

Always been a big fan of David Beckham, maybe it’s his skills, maybe it’s his looks!

What is your best football memory?

Definitely has to be our 1-0 grand final victory back in 2011 against Northbridge (now North Shore Mariners) – quite possibly our only victory to hold over their heads.
