The aim of the program is to expose players to the Northern Tigers playing and coaching philosophy which is designed to promote player development. Our goal is to work with clubs to develop players and further raise the standard of NSFA football.

The 2025 Development Squads will run on Monday and Friday afternoons in Term 1, 2 & 3.

2025 will see the introduction of the Monday option. Depending on group capacity limits players will be able to train once or twice a week. This does need to confirmed at time of payment.

The program caters for players born from 2011 to 2018.

The Development Squad is a training environment only, players still register to train and play with a local NSFA Club

Players will be identified for the Development Squads via

Invitation by selection – Click here to register your interest for our Development Squads.
NSFA representatives attend local NSFA games to observe players participating in a familiar environment.
NSFA request clubs to identify and recommend potentially talented players at their club against a set of criteria.

What Is The Northern Tigers Development Squad Program?

The aim of the program is to expose players to quality coaching and the Northern Tigers philosophy to promote player development.

The Development Squad is a training environment only, players can still register to train and play with a local NSFA Club.

Who Can Trial For Northern Tigers Development Squads?

Development Squads are an underpinning program for the Northern Tigers FC teams, with the additional aim of supporting local Clubs to further develop local players and therefore increase the standard of the local competitions. Preference is provided to players that play for and reside within the NSFA boundaries.

Can A Child Register To Play For A Local Club Team And Development Squads At The Same Time?

Yes, our development squad is a training only program. Players are expected to play with a NSFA club.

When, Where And What Time Are The Training Sessions?

For the first time Northern Tigers will offer a Monday* option for training for the 2025 Development Squads. Players need to select their training day at the time of purchase (subject to availability), options are Monday only, Friday only or Monday and Friday.

Monday* training only available to players born as below:
Boys - 2018-2015
Girls - 2018-2014

Friday training only available to players born as below:
Boys - 2018-2011
Girls - 2018-2011

Term 1: Mon 3rd February to Fri 11th April 2025
Term 2: Mon 28th April to Fri 4th July 2025
Term 3: Mon 21st July to Fri 26th Sept 2025

Times: 4pm to 5pm or 5pm to 6pm – depending on the age group (older groups in the second hour). In 2024 during winter season all Charles Bean sessions moved forward 10 minutes due to NSFA fixtures playing afterwards. This is likely to exist for 2025.

Locations: North Turramurra Recreation Area or Charles Bean Oval, Lindfield.
Please note that Monday training will only be offered at North Turramurra.

How Much Are The Development Squad Fees?

Friday = $640
Monday = $600 (Reduced price as term 2 and 3 are reduced to 9 weeks due to public holidays, see the "when, where" section for exact dates)
Both sessions = $1,240

Plus a training kit to be purchased through the Macron online store. Expected to be ready for sale late November.
