Weekend Review: March 17-18

Weekend Review: March 17-18

Our Men’s NPL 2 players continued their strong start to the season with some impressive results against Macarthur Rams at NTRA on Saturday night.

With the gauntlet laid down by the Youth NPL Under 16’s last week after an 8-0 win, the Under 18’s put on a show, scoring ELEVEN (yes, you read that right!) on their way to three points. Under 20’s found their opposition a little more resilient, finishing locked at one goal apiece.

The main event for the day saw the Men’s First Grade secure back-to-back wins with a 4-2 scoreline, courtesy of a brace from Liam McConaghy and goals to Jordan Ferrier and Rory Spiers.

Youth NPL endured some tough results against St George Saints Football Club, starting off with two losses before the Under 15’s secured a point in a spirited performance featuring several Under 14’s players backing up after their match. The Under 16’s were locked at one goal apiece at half time in their match before the heat forced the officials to abandon the game.

The continuing heatwave on Sunday unfortunately forced the cancellation of all Women’s NPL fixtures against Blacktown Spartans Football Club.
