Kealey Adamson selected for the Subway Australian U23s squad

In a significant achievement, former Northern Tigers player and current coach, 21 year old Kealey Adamson was named as part of the Subway Australian U23s squad for a domestic training camp in November 2024.

Kealey is a rising star of Australian football who has made significant strides in both his playing career and his role as a coach. While his professional player journey continues to develop, Kealey is also making a meaningful impact at Northern Tigers FC, where he serves as the U13s Boys coach. His dual involvement in the A-League Men as a player for Macarthur FC and in youth coaching reflects his commitment to the game, both on and off the field.

Kealey’s football journey began at a young age. He played his junior football at Lindfield FC. He was playing for Lindfield FC when identified by Northern Tigers FC youth coaches Frank Horn and Volker Buhl.

In 2015, Adamson joined Northern Tigers FC, marking the first significant step in his development. The club provided him with the platform to showcase his abilities, and he quickly established himself as a key player in the club’s youth squads. As he continued to excel, he was promoted to the Northern Tigers first-grade team in 2021, where he made 9 appearances at just 18 years old in the Covid impacted season. His career took another step forward when he joined the Sydney FC NPL squad in 2022, gaining valuable experience in a professional environment. Kealey was a key member of the Sydney FC squad that won the 2023 Australia Cup before moving on to sign a professional contract late in 2023 with A-League rival Macarthur FC. Kealey is now a key member of the Macarthur FC A-League squad, winning the Australia Cup again in 2024.

While his playing career evolves, Kealey has continued coaching at Northern Tigers, initially as a SAP Coach and now as the U13 Boys Youth Coach. 2025 will be Kealey’s fourth season of coaching and mentoring the next generation of Tigers players.

Northern Tigers FC Technical Director Jason Eagar is full of praise for Kealey “I am so pleased Kealey is being recognised at a national level with his selection into the Australian U23 squad for this camp. As a youth player Kealey was very competitive, very focused, very determined, with an unwavering work ethic. His transition from Youth football to Senior football to now being a professional player has been a wonderful journey to follow. Kealey is a true Tiger, continuing his link with the Club through coaching and inspiring the next generation of Tigers players.”

Congratulations Kealey!

Izzy Gomez called up to the Matildas

In a momentous achievement, Izzy Gomez, at 22 years old, has earned her first call up to the Matildas.

Izzy is a Mt Colah FC junior who was identified at a Northern Tigers FC holiday clinic and selected into the Northern Tigers Girls Youth program, from there Izzy was selected to represent the Football NSW Institute. In 2021 Izzy returned “home” to play in the Northern Tigers FC Womens 1st Grade squad, now with 54 1st Grade appearances and Izzy was a key member of the Sapphire Cup winning team in 2024. Izzy has previously represented Australia at a youth level, and inclusion in the Matilda squad is the next step in her journey to becoming one of the country’s leading footballers.

Her transition from youth football to the senior national team is a testament to her hard work and determination. The midfielder has long been regarded as one of Australia’s brightest emerging talents, and she is now set to take that potential to the international stage at senior level.

Izzy’s journey to the Matildas has been marked by an impressive rise in the domestic scene, going from playing First Grade at the Northern Tigers and then playing A League football at Wellington Phoenix and Central Coast Mariners. The 2023/24 season at the Central Coast Mariners was a standout year for the midfielder, who only missed one game throughout the campaign. Her performance did not go unnoticed, as she took home three trophies at the 2023/24 Mariners Medal Dinner including Mariners Player of the Year award, which cemented her place as one of the club’s standout performances.

Technical Director Jason Eagar said “everyone at Tigers is so pleased and proud of Izzy. I was here when Izzy came into Tigers and we could all see then she was a special talent. This opportunity is thoroughly deserved after many years of dedication and her ultra consistent high level performances over the past 12 months.”

You will be able to watch the Matildas series against both Brazil and Chinese Taipei live and free on 10 and 10 Bold and live on 10 Play and Paramount+ thanks to Football Australia’s broadcast partner, Paramount Australia.

Exciting Update for the NTRA ‘Home of Football’!

The design changes for the NTRA ‘Home of Football’ development were heard and assessed by the Ku-ring-gai Planning Panel on Monday, 21 October 2024. We are delighted to advise that the Planning Panel has approved these changes.

The design changes reflect community feedback on the original designs and will greatly enhance the facility – bringing improvements that everyone can enjoy without altering the building’s footprint.

  • Aesthetics – A design that fits more naturally into the beautiful surroundings
  • Accessibility – Better access for elderly and disabled visitors, ensuring the space is welcoming to all
  • Safety – Extra roof coverage over external stairs, improving safety and protection from the elements
  • Comfort – Better viewing options for Field #1, making it more enjoyable for spectators
  • Noise Reduction – Enhanced acoustic features to create a more peaceful environment
  • Ground Floor Reconfiguration – A smarter layout to make the space more functional and visitor-friendly

This project is more than just a development, it’s about creating a hub of which our local sports and community groups can be proud. The much-needed undercover seating and improved amenities will be a game changer for the NTRA site, particularly the inclusion of female-friendly facilities.

Thank you to everyone – NSFA members, Northern Tigers members and our community partners – who have supported this fit-for-purpose project. We’re excited about what’s ahead and can’t wait to share this fabulous new facility with our community.
